Introduction to Monoclonal Antibody Therapies – A New Therapeutic Approach in Companion Animal Medicine
This presentation will review the history and development of monoclonal antibodies and how they are utilized in veterinary medicine, with emphasis on the areas of dermatology and osteoarthritis (OA). Dr. McKenzie will also highlight an updated, streamlined diagnostic approach that can be utilized in canine allergic dermatitis workups. The presentation will also review tips and tricks for diagnosing and managing OA in cats.

Speaker: Dr. Ryan McKenzie
Dr. Ryan McKenzie is the Zoetis Petcare Professional Services Veterinarian for the DC/Delmarva Area. A native of West Virginia and Maryland, he graduated from Frostburg State University in 2002 and earned his DVM from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Afterwards he completed an internship in small animal internal medicine and critical care in Connecticut. Dr. McKenzie was a full-time small animal general practitioner in Delaware for 12 years prior to joining Zoetis in 2020. His professional interests include pharmacology, internal medicine, as well as team coaching/development and client education. He is a frequent speaker and an advisory panelist for PAWS For People, which he has been involved with for 15 years. He resides in Delaware with his wife Tara (a Licensed Veterinary Technician) and daughters, Anna & Vivian.
