DVMA has taken preventive measures to reduce the spread of communicable disease at our upcoming Practice Management Symposium. We are collaborating extensively with the conference venue to ensure that precautions will be in place for this in-person meeting. The health and safety of all attendees is our top priority.
During this difficult and uncharted time, we ask for respect and professional courtesy. Everyone has different comfort levels and we appreciate that you honor everyone’s personal space and interaction preferences.
What You Should Know
We will follow State of Delaware’s guidelines for mask wearing – CLICK HERE for full details. At this time, masks are not required indoors. Of course, if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please do!
The quantity of seats at meal tables will be limited. Seating during sessions will be spaced out to allow for distancing.
Disposable face masks will be available at the registration counter.
If you have any questions or concerns onsite, please speak with the DVMA staff member.
We ask for respect and professional courtesy, and if you are not feeling well, please stay away from all events.
DVMA has the right and duty to restrict access to anyone exhibiting the symptoms noted below or not following conference guidelines.
All attendees are required to abide by these guidelines and acknowledge compliance by signing in at the conference on September 24, 2021. With your signature, you release DVMA of any liability related to contraction of COVID-19 or other communicable disease during the conference.
Symptoms & Staying Home
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider to get tested and stay home: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or fatigue. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms within 14 days of the start of the DVMA symposium, have come into contact with someone who tested positive, or test positive for COVID-19, please stay home and contact DVMA at email@example.com.
If you do not feel well, please do not enter the conference space. If you develop symptoms while at the event, please discontinue your attendance at the meeting and immediately self-quarantine except to get medical advice and care.
Interaction and Best Practices
Participants are asked to utilize a “no handshake” policy and instead utilize an elbow tap if you are so inclined.
All participants are asked to practice social distancing when interacting with others.
You are strongly encouraged to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when unable.
Meals and Receptions
Seating for meals will include limited chairs at each table.
To ensure food safety, lunch will be plated and served. We will have outdoor seating available on the patio if the weather permits.
All of seating for the conference will be configured to allow for social distancing between chairs.
Speakers will be permitted to remove their masks while speaking if they maintain distance and do not walk near the audience while presenting.
Cleaning Procedures & Removing Touch Points
The conference center is making sure to engage in a process of constant cleaning and disinfecting as well as removing as many touchpoints as possible. A few of the many steps they are taking include having people clean rooms after each use, doors stand open on their own, constant cleaning high touch points (such as handrails, door handles, and elevator buttons), touchless hydration stations, open exterior doors. As guests navigate throughout the conference center, they will see frequent reminders to wash their hands and take protective measures as well as floor markings to indicate safe distances in public spaces. Hand sanitizer stations will also be liberally dispersed throughout the building.
