About the Presenters

Jennifer Quammen, DVM, MPH

Affectionately known by clients and peers as Dr. Q, Jen is a veterinary practitioner in Kentucky and Indiana. Her background in various fields has helped her to develop into a leader in Veterinary Medicine. Along with her DVM and history as a veterinary technician, Jen holds a Master of Public Health, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Q currently serves as a Member of the AVMA Council on Veterinary Services and as Vice President and Public Relations Chair of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA). As a 2011 alumna of the VLI’s Veterinary Leadership Experience (VLE), Dr. Q recently returned for her sixth year of tenure as a VLE Facilitator in 2017. To maintain balance in her busy life, Jen enjoys training and competing in kettlebell sport, writing on her blog, reading, and enjoying outdoor activities.


Ryan Smith, MS

Ryan is a performance and endurance coach working with executive level athletes to achieve maximal results. Using a variety of approaches, these athletes balance their personal and professional lives. His methodologies, developed and refined over time, help the individual to maximize performance by fine tuning their mental, nutritional, and physical profiles. Ryan’s 25 years of human performance background includes both a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science/Physical Education from the University of Kentucky, and advanced certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, National Academy of Sports Medicine, USA Track & Field, and the International Foot and Gait Education Council. Ryan also specializes in mental performance with certifications in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Food Psychology, SuperHuman Coaching, and Hypnosis. He has been interviewed for USA Today, Fox News Affiliate WDRB- Louisville for the Ironman Triathlon, Cincinnati Profile and Cincy Chic magazines and has spoken to members of the Cincinnati Quantified Self organization.
