As a Licensed Veterinary Technician in our busy hospital, you will assist doctors in surgery, monitor and administer anesthesia, administer meds, perform dentals, venipuncture, place catheters, take digital radiographs, provide client education, run in house labs and perform other surgical, patient care and emergency duties in accordance with the practice’s standards of care and values.  Qualified candidates must have a current Veterinary Technician license with a minimum of 1 year of hands – on experience in surgery and anesthesia. Candidates should be able to multi-task, take direction and be confident in a fast – paced environment where situations can change quickly. Computer proficiency required and experience with Cornerstone is a plus.

Licensed Veterinary Technician Needed

Shelter Veterinary Technician Needed

Our adoption center consistently achieves over a 95% save rate for cats and dogs, and expects to welcome over 1500 shelter animals into our programs in 2021. This position assists Delaware SPCA veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary care for shelter-owned and public-owned animals, including our high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinic, low-cost wellness clinic and vaccine clinic events, as well as oversees and supports a dynamic team of veterinary assistants and shelter kennel techs.

Governors Avenue Animal Hospital, located in Dover, DE is seeking an organized, compassionate, and enthusiastic professional to join our team as a Veterinary Technician. In this role, you will work directly with our animal patients, their owners and our veterinary staff. This is a full-time position with a generous benefit package.  We are looking for a team member who would enjoy the opportunity of working with an established small animal practice that specializes in providing high quality, compassionate, empathetic and convenient care for our patients. Our team believes that “Your Pet Is the Heart of Our Practice.” Along with caring for our animal patients, this position would include exam room assisting, surgical assisting, anesthesia, dental procedures, vaccinations, clinical pathology, laboratory testing and euthanasia. Our staff also focus on client education, inventory maintenance and marketing.  The VT position also requires a working knowledge of common diseases, their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment, and prevention. The ideal candidate would also possess exceptional clinical skills and have an understanding of animal behavior and healthcare.  This is a high-level overview of the position and the responsibilities listed do not encompass the entire position. This position also requires that the candidate have strong customer service skills, great work ethic and be team focused. A technician with a minimum of three years’ experience would be appreciated. Salary is based on certification, experience, and job knowledge.
