Membership:
Membership
fees: 2008 DVMA dues $200. This membership fee
includes 2 CE meetings, lunch at both meetings, newsletter,
public visibility campaigns, legislative campaigns, credit card
program, insurance program and more.
Active
Members in the Association shall be
those graduates of colleges and schools of veterinary medicine.
To become an Active Member in the Association completion of the
Executive Board approved membership application is required. The
application must be accompanied by the appropriate fee as established
at the time by the Executive Board. Active members pay dues and
vote.
Honor
Roll Members: (a) Members who have
reached the age of 70 years and have maintained membership in the
Association for a period of 40 years may, upon recommendation by
the Executive Board, have their name added to the Association's
Honor Roll, be excused from payment of dues, assessments, or other
financial obligations of the Association, and continue to receive
the same rights and privileges as active members.
(b)A
veterinarian who has reached the age of 72 and has maintained continuous
membership in the Association since graduation from a college of
veterinary medicine, may upon recommendation of the Executive Board
be listed by name on the Honor Roll, be excused from the payment
of dues, assessments, or other financial obligations of the Association,
and continue to receive the same rights and privelages as active
members.
Honorary
Members: Any member may propose a
candidate for honorary membership. Such proposal shall be in writing
and referred to the Executive Board for consideration. The Executive
Board's recommendation shall be presented to the full membership
at the next meeting for approval. Honorary members may take part
in debate, but shall not be entitled to vote. Honorary members will
not pay dues.
